Caterpillar Industrial Inc. (CII) is a US company branch headquartered in Illinois. Commonly referred to as CAT, it is 'the world's largest manufacturer of construction and mining equipment', according to its website. Their products are easily and famously recognizable by the distinctive yellow paint theme.

Caterpillar combined with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) to form Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklifts America Inc. The idea was that these two companies together would have a greater world presence. MHI had the manufacturing and engineering expertise, and CII had the dealer network and brand identity.
